I am a working drummer who has been playing drums for nearly 50 years. I’ve had instruction over the years and have played with multiple bands. I started taking lessons with Josh Orlando in December of 2022. I desired lessons shortly after discovering Josh and being mesmerized by the effortless flow of his playing. We were only minutes into my first lesson where Josh noticed several flaws in my technique that no one had ever pointed out. I begun a whole new drum journey that day. Over the next many months, I took several lessons and sent Josh multiple videos of my playing from behind the drums at shows I performed. Josh was able to identify what I was doing right and what still needed work. It took about 6 months before my hand and finger technique was to Josh’s satisfaction. The difference in my playing is remarkable. Everything I play is so much easier and has so much more room for nuance and dynamics. Things that used to seem impossible now feel effortless. My bandmates have made multiple comments about the difference in my playing. I will continue to study with Josh. His depth of knowledge and ability to simply express complex concepts is a true gift. And Josh is one of the finest people you will ever want to meet. If you want to improve your drumming. Josh is your guy!

I had always dreamed of being a drummer since I was little, but I didn’t get the chance to pursue it until college. Starting something so new at that stage was exciting but also intimidating. From the moment I met Josh, he created a welcoming and supportive environment that immediately put me at ease. His teaching style is patient and encouraging, making it easy to embrace the learning process without fear of mistakes. Josh is not only incredibly skilled but also one of the most personable and kind instructors you’ll ever meet. Our lessons have quickly become one of the best parts of my week.
